WAGAH BORDER: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz declared on Sunday that the peace and security of the country represent an uncompromisable “red line,” as she addressed a grand ceremony marking one year since what she termed the “fight for truth.”
The event, held at the Wagah border, featured a parade by a smart and agile contingent of the Rangers, including female personnel.
In her address, CM Maryam Nawaz paid rich tribute to the nation’s martyrs. “We are proud of our martyrs,” she said. “In the fight for truth, the nation and our brave forces gave such a crushing defeat to the enemy that they were left holding hands.”
The Chief Minister saluted the mothers of the martyrs, as well as Nawaz Sharif for making Pakistan a nuclear power. She also extended a salute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. “The Field Marshal gave such a response to the enemy that they were left holding hands,” she stated, adding that he has fully protected the trust of Pakistanis.
She further saluted the military leadership and the soldiers standing on the border, asserting that the entire nation stands with its armed forces.
Maryam Nawaz also highlighted diplomatic achievements, saying that under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Field Marshal, Pakistan has won the war on the diplomatic front. “It will be written in history that the one who stopped the most dangerous World War III was none other than Pakistan,” she declared, noting that countries around the world are praising Pakistan.
