RAWALPINDI: Security forces killed a suspect after he opened fire on a security forces vehicle near Flashman’s Hotel on Mall Road in Rawalpindi on Tuesday.
According to security sources, a motorcycle rider opened fire on the vehicle near Flashman’s Hotel. Security forces responded promptly and killed the suspect on the spot before he could flee the scene.
The sources identified the suspect as Muhammad Hussain, a resident of Khyber district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The sources said Hussain was an active member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Security personnel recovered a party flag, weapons, ammunition and important documents from his possession, the sources said.
Further investigations are underway, the sources added.
