CTD Kills two most-wanted TTP terrorists in Tank

KOH SULEMAN : Two terrorists, including a key commander, were killed in an exchange of fire during a major operation by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the mountainous area of Koh Suleman, officials said.

 

According to a CTD Punjab spokesperson, the operation was carried out on the basis of intelligence inputs, and the slain terrorists belonged to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

 

The spokesperson stated that there was confirmed information about the presence of 12 to 15 armed terrorists in the tribal area of Taman Qaisrani. The terrorists were planning to sabotage populated areas of Koh Suleman, Wahwa, and Taunsa tehsils.

 

The CTD spokesperson said the terrorists were tracked down with the help of modern weapons, surveillance equipment, and drone technology. Action was taken after secret surveillance throughout the night in the difficult mountainous area near Jandoga.

 

During the intense exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed while two others retreated with their companions in an injured condition, the spokesperson added.

 

On the other hand, the CTD spokesperson further said that the process of identifying the slain terrorists is ongoing, and an extensive search and sweep operation has been launched to arrest the escaped elements.
