First Snowfall at Khunjerab Pass Turns Mountains White

GILGIT: The first snowfall of the year at Khunjerab Pass, one of Gilgit-Baltistan’s highest and most popular tourist destinations, has transformed the area into a winter landscape, covering its towering mountains in a blanket of snow.

Snowfall around the Khunjerab border crossing has created picturesque views, with snow-covered peaks, chilly winds and vast white landscapes attracting tourists.

Pakistani and Chinese visitors at the border enjoyed the first snowfall of the year, taking photographs and recording videos against the snow-covered mountains and scenic surroundings.

Images and videos of the snow-covered area have also been widely shared on social media, with users praising the scenic beauty of the region.

Khunjerab Pass is an important land crossing between Pakistan and China and a major tourist attraction in Gilgit-Baltistan. Located at a high altitude, the area experiences extremely cold weather, particularly during periods of snowfall.
