KARACHI : Police have identified the three suspects who were killed in an encounter with law enforcement personnel in Machar Colony, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.
According to police officials, the slain suspects were in the process of looting a shop when they opened fire on the shopkeeper. The sound of gunfire alerted police personnel who were assigned to security duties for the 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal procession in the vicinity. Upon reaching the scene, the suspects also opened fire on the police party, prompting retaliation.
Police officials stated that the three suspects were killed in the exchange of fire. They have been identified as Rehman, Umardad, and Sadiq. Further investigations into the incident are currently underway, and authorities are probing whether the suspects were involved in other criminal activities in the area.
No casualties were reported among police personnel or civilians during the encounter. The bodies have been moved to a nearby hospital for legal formalities. Additional security measures have been put in place in the locality to maintain law and order following the incident
