TEHRAN: Details of a new ceasefire proposal between United States and Iran have reportedly surfaced.
According to Reuters, the proposed agreement is being prepared in the form of a memorandum of understanding aimed at reducing tensions in the region.
The US plan consists of three phases.
The first phase includes a formal declaration to end the conflict, the second focuses on restoring ship movement through the Strait of Hormuz, while the third phase involves the start of negotiations.
According to US media reports, Washington’s 14-point proposal requires Iran to halt uranium enrichment for 12 years and guarantee that it will not develop nuclear weapons.
Iran would also be required to hand over its 60% enriched uranium.
