TEHRAN : Iran’s parliamentary speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has publicly thanked Pakistan and its top military officials for their reported involvement in diplomatic efforts leading to a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.
In a statement shared on social media, Ghalibaf specifically praised the role of Pakistan’s mediation in the ceasefire talks, as well as the contributions of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the country’s army chief.
Describing the recent developments in Lebanon as the result of “perseverance and unity,” the Iranian official added that Tehran would closely monitor regional developments until a permanent solution is reached.
“This process should be done carefully until full success is achieved,” Ghalibaf said.
According to the Iranian speaker, Iran values the initiative taken by the government of Pakistan to launch diplomatic negotiations while Lebanon was experiencing internal unrest.
Ghalibaf also reiterated Iran’s unwavering position on the matter, emphasizing that regardless of the ceasefire agreement’s final outcome, Iran will never alter its stance
