TEHRAN : Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has stated that a memorandum of understanding with the United States has not yet been signed, clarifying that any eventual agreement will contain 14 points and will be disclosed in full detail to the public once finalized.
Speaking to Iranian media, Araqchi emphasized that changes remain possible and that nuclear issues have been postponed for a later stage. “The US’s nuclear demands are not acceptable to us at this stage,” he said.
The Foreign Minister made a series of firm declarations regarding Iran’s regional stance. He stressed that Iran will never abandon Hezbollah in Lebanon and that the agreement must include an end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon. “The declaration of the end of the war will be under the interim agreement on all fronts, including Lebanon,” Araqchi said.
He further asserted that Iran is the winner of the war against America, claiming the country has emerged stronger. Key provisions of the interim agreement, according to Araqchi, include the lifting of the US blockade and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
“The management of the Strait of Hormuz will not return to the pre-war era,” Araqchi warned. “Iran will ensure the safe passage of ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Our sword will always hang over the Strait of Hormuz. Iran and Oman have sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.”
The Foreign Minister also addressed the situation in Lebanon, stating that ending the war there means Israel’s withdrawal from occupied territories. He described the interim agreement as a first step, cautioning that failure to implement it would mean no nuclear talks.
Araqchi accused Israel of being an enemy of the Iran-US agreement and demanded that US threats stop, insisting that Iran will not give in to pressure. “The only solution for Iran’s uranium reserves is to bring the material to a low level,” he added.
