ISLAMABAD: India has agreed in principle to participate in the South Asian Federation (SAF) Games scheduled to be held in Pakistan in April 2027, Pakistani officials said.
Indian representatives attended a high-level meeting of the South Asian Olympic Association to discuss arrangements for the Games. During the meeting, India gave a positive response to participating in the event in Pakistan.
Pakistan Olympic Association Secretary General Khalid Mahmood confirmed that India had agreed to take part in the Games.
The 2027 SAF Games will be held in Islamabad and feature competitions in 15 sports, including squash, tennis and martial arts.
The Games are scheduled for April 2027, with athletes from South Asian countries expected to compete across various disciplines.
