ISLAMABAD : Senior journalist and analyst Hassan Ayub Khan has praised the current leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir, stating that their diplomatic efforts have brought Pakistan to a position of strength on the global stage.
Speaking in an interview with private TV channel Hum News, Khan said that Pakistan’s name has become famous worldwide as a result of these efforts. “Pakistanis are proudly uploading pictures of their passports on social media,” he added, pointing to a renewed sense of national pride.
According to Khan, Pakistan’s role in facilitating negotiations between Iran and the United States has drawn international gratitude. He claimed that countries including Japan, France, and Germany are thanking Pakistan for its diplomatic initiatives.
Hassan Ayub Khan also sharply criticized former Prime Minister Imran Khan, accusing his party (PTI) of exaggerating ordinary diplomatic encounters.

“PTI celebrated so much during a meeting with US President Donald Trump that Imran Khan was welcomed at Islamabad Airport upon his return home,” Khan said, referring to a reportedly over-the-top reception. He added that Imran Khan “used to interpret a meeting with Trump as winning the World Cup.”
