Hot, Dry Weather to Grip Most of Pakistan, Rain Forecast in North

ISLAMABAD: Hot and dry weather will prevail across most parts of Pakistan on Monday, while intense heat is expected in southern regions, the meteorological department said.

Rain with strong winds and thunderstorms is likely at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, northeastern and eastern Punjab, and the Potohar region. Hailstorms are also expected in some areas.

Partly cloudy conditions will develop over Islamabad and surrounding areas. Rain with gusty winds and thunderstorms is forecast, with a chance of hail at isolated locations.

Hot and dry conditions will continue in most districts of Punjab. Dust storms and gusty winds are expected in southern and central areas. Rain and hail are likely at a few places, including Murree, Galyat, Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Partly cloudy weather is expected in upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rain with thunderstorms is forecast in areas including Chitral, Swat, Abbottabad and Peshawar.

Severe heat and dry conditions will persist across most parts of Sindh. Similar conditions are expected in southern districts of Balochistan. However, light rain is possible in Zhob, Loralai and nearby areas.

Partly cloudy skies are also forecast for Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, with chances of rain and isolated hailstorms.
