ISLAMABAD: A court on Friday adjourned until September 14 the hearing of a bail application filed by Zeeshan Arshad, the accused in the brutal killing of digital designer Hina Javed.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Naseer Ahmed heard the case.
During the hearing, the court expressed strong displeasure after the station house officer (SHO) and investigating officer failed to appear.
The court noted that the investigating officer had travelled to Lahore instead of producing the case record.
It directed the SHO to produce the complete record at the next hearing without fail.
Two separate power-of-attorney documents were also submitted by lawyers representing Arshad.
The court noted that the jail had cleared two different biometric verifications and two separate power-of-attorney documents.
It ordered that both documents be sent to the jail superintendent for verification and clearance.
“This is an extremely sensitive, high-profile case. No negligence will be tolerated,” the court remarked.
Meanwhile, Hina Javed’s family has expressed concerns over the police investigation and the conduct of investigators.
Former Lahore High Court judge Shah Khawar will represent the victim’s family, while Hina’s brother, Fahad Javed, has completed biometric verification.
Police said Hina Javed was found bound at her hands and feet before she was killed on August 20.
The case remains under investigation.
