ISLAMABAD : In a major relief for consumers, the federal government has slashed the price of kerosene by Rs 48.29 per liter, effective immediately.
According to an official notification, the new price of kerosene has been set at Rs 233.90 per liter, down from the previous rate of Rs 282.19. The substantial reduction comes as part of a broader downward revision in petroleum product prices.
This move follows earlier cuts in which petrol prices were reduced by Rs 74 per liter and diesel by Rs 67 per liter. The successive reductions are expected to ease financial pressure on households and businesses alike, particularly in sectors reliant on kerosene for heating and lighting.
The new pricing took effect from today, with authorities confirming the updated rates across all distribution networks.
