BAGHLAN : The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF), an anti-Taliban resistance group, has claimed responsibility for a rocket attack on a Taliban military convoy in Doshi district of Baghlan province, alleging multiple casualties among Taliban personnel.
In a statement issued on Monday, the AFF said its fighters targeted a Taliban convoy that was transporting additional personnel and military equipment from Kabul to Badakhshan province. The group claimed that seven Taliban members were killed and six others injured in the rocket strike.
The AFF further asserted that no fighters from the organization were harmed during the operation.
In a separate claim, the group said that four Taliban commanders had been killed in various clashes over the past two days. The deceased were identified as:
· Mullah Shadab
· Maulvi Gul Ahmadi
· Mullah Faridullah
· Qari Omari Lazari
The Afghanistan Freedom Front has intensified its operational claims in recent weeks, signaling a possible uptick in resistance activities against the Taliban government, which seized power in August 2021.
No official response has been issued by the Taliban administration regarding these claims. The reports could not be independently verified by credible sources, and the Taliban have not released any casualty figures or statements addressing the alleged attacks.
Efforts to reach Taliban spokespersons for comment were unsuccessful at the time of filing.
