ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has issued a 15-day flight operation schedule for the New Gwadar International Airport.
According to a PAA spokesperson, the new schedule covers the period from June 5 to June 20. Under the plan, flight operations at the airport will be conducted twice a week.
Flights will operate on Mondays and Thursdays, with aircraft permitted to land and take off between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 pm.
The Pakistan Airports Authority has also issued a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) outlining the revised flight operation arrangements for Gwadar Airport.
Earlier this week, Pakistan newly launched private airline, South Air, conducted its first test flight landing at the New Gwadar International Airport, located in Balochistan’s strategically and economically vital coastal city.
An ATR 72-600 aircraft was utilized for this milestone operation.
The launch of South Air’s flight operations is set to seamlessly link Gwadar with key cities and regions across Pakistan.
The proposed flight network intends to connect Gwadar to Turbat, Panjgur, Quetta, Sukkur, Lahore, Islamabad, and various destinations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This new aviation service is anticipated to significantly drive tourism, investment, trade, and business activities.
Beyond improving regional integration, the initiative is poised to strengthen the local economy and generate fresh employment opportunities.
The successful test flight is being widely hailed as a highly positive step forward for Gwadar’s development, enhanced travel convenience, and economic growth in Balochistan.
