WANA: Five terrorists belonging to Fitna-ul-Khwarij were killed during a fierce gunfight with local tribesmen in the Darpa Khel area of North Waziristan, police officials said on Saturday.
According to Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu, Sajjad Khan, the exchange of fire erupted in the Shahzada Kot area of Darpa Khel between local tribal members and Fitna-ul-Khwarij militants. The RPO confirmed that five terrorists were killed and several others wounded in the clash. However, the gunfire also claimed the lives of three civilians, while eight others sustained injuries.
Police teams immediately rushed to the scene and shifted all injured persons to Civil Hospital Miranshah, RPO Khan said, adding that law enforcement arrived promptly to support the tribesmen upon receiving information. “The police are always ready to protect the lives and property of the people,” he asserted.
