Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Funeral: Field Marshal Asim Munir Reaches Tehran

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reached to Tehran to attend the funeral prayer of the Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The late supreme leader Khamenei, 86, was hit alongside several family members in a joint US-Israeli air strike on his compound on February 28, the first day of the 28 days war.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reached Iran after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who landed earlier today with a high-level delegation. They are among the Pakistani political, social, and religious leaders attending the funeral ceremonies of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Upon his arrival, he received a warm welcome at Tehran’s airport, where he was greeted by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and other senior Iranian officials. Senior civilian and military representatives from both countries were also present. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who is in Iran, also present at the airport to receive him.

According to sources, Field Marshal Munir will hold high-level meetings with the Iranian leadership during his visit. The talks are expected to focus on bilateral relations, regional security, defense cooperation, border management, and other issues of mutual interest.

During the visit, Field Marshal Munir will convey Pakistan’s condolences to the Iranian leadership and people over the passing of Ayatollah سید Ali Khamenei. He will also express Pakistan’s solidarity and sympathy on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan.

World leaders and high-level delegations from several countries are attending the funeral and burial ceremonies of Ayatollah سید Ali Khamenei in Iran. Iranian authorities have put extensive security measures in place for the events, with millions of mourners expected to participate.
