QUETTA: Moderate earthquakes shook the Sibi and Kohlu districts of Balochistan on Friday, spreading panic among residents. No casualties or property damage have been reported so far.
The National Seismic Monitoring Centre recorded a 5.0-magnitude earthquake in Kohlu and a 4.2-magnitude quake in Sibi.
The earthquake in Sibi struck at a depth of 42 kilometers, with its epicenter located roughly 57 kilometers northeast of Sibi city. Meanwhile, the quake in Kohlu struck at a shallower depth of 18 kilometers, centered 65 kilometers northeast of Kohlu city.
Terrified residents rushed out of their homes into open spaces following the tremors. Relevant disaster management authorities are currently assessing the situation on the ground.
