Attack on Passenger Bus Causes Three Deaths

RAWALPINDI: Unidentified assailants opened fire on a customs vehicle near the Rawalpindi Interchange Toll Plaza on Friday, killing one official and seriously injuring another, police said.

 

The attack occurred when unknown persons fired multiple bullets at the customs van, causing it to catch fire. A large contingent of police and rescue teams rushed to the scene upon receiving information about the incident.

 

Rescue personnel immediately shifted the body of the deceased official and the injured individual to DHQ Hospital. The deceased was identified as Jawad, while the injured official was named as Basirullah.

 

Police officials confirmed that the fire engulfing the vehicle was quickly brought under control. An investigation has been launched, and authorities have assured that the accused will be traced and taken into custody soon. Further details are awaited as the probe continues.
