Coca-Cola Pakistan Plants 5,000 Trees Under Green Pakistan Programme

ISLAMABAD, May 7, 2026: Coca-Cola Pakistan has contributed 5,000 indigenous trees under the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination’s “Upscaling Green Pakistan Programme,” reinforcing efforts to expand urban green cover and support national climate resilience goals.

The plantation activity took place at F-6/3 Park in Islamabad, where the trees were planted as part of broader initiatives aimed at reducing emissions and improving environmental conditions in urban areas.

The event was attended by Federal Minister for Climate Change Musadik Malik, along with Sunay Şanlı, General Manager of Coca-Cola Icecek (CCI), and Dr. Faisal Hashmi, Senior Director of Coca-Cola Pakistan. Officials from the Pakistan Environmental Protection Agency (Pak EPA) and the Capital Development Authority (CDA), as well as youth volunteers, also participated.

Speaking on the occasion, Musadik Malik stressed the importance of sustained afforestation efforts, saying trees play a vital role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving environmental conditions. He said future plantation drives would focus not only on planting trees but also on ensuring their protection and long-term survival, while encouraging greater corporate participation in climate action.

Dr. Faisal Hashmi said the initiative reflects the importance of collaboration in advancing environmental sustainability. He said Coca-Cola Pakistan remains committed to supporting on-ground projects that strengthen ecosystems and contribute to long-term climate resilience.

F-6/3 Park is also the site of Islamabad’s first plastic road, developed through a partnership involving CDA and Coca-Cola with support from the National Incubation Center. The company has also installed benches and waste bins made from recycled plastic in parks across the capital and conducted public awareness campaigns on environmental responsibility.

According to the company, this latest plantation drive builds on its wider environmental initiatives in Pakistan, including water stewardship, waste management support, and large-scale tree plantation projects. Last month, Coca-Cola Pakistan also partnered with the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) to plant 2,000 indigenous trees at Islamabad International Airport.

The company says it has now contributed more than 250,000 trees across Pakistan as part of its sustainability efforts
