QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti announced on Saturday that his reconciliation efforts have borne fruit, as the provincial government and the sit-in committee reached a written agreement following successful negotiations.
The agreement, reached after extensive dialogue, stipulates that all parties will work jointly to implement the demands put forward by the families of the martyrs of Ziarat. A key component of the deal is the formation of a judicial commission tasked with investigating the incident that led to the martyrs’ deaths, ensuring a transparent inquiry into the matter.
Under the terms of the accord, the Chief Minister will chair a joint meeting with opposition parties and the families of the martyrs to address the broader law and order situation in the province. Furthermore, the government has committed to enhancing the capacity, manpower, and professional skills of the police force in Balochistan’s urban areas.
In a significant gesture, the martyrs of Ziarat will be officially declared as martyrs under the prevailing policy, ensuring their families receive sponsorships, educational support for their children, and compensation in accordance with established protocols. To honor their supreme sacrifices, various government buildings will be named after the fallen heroes.
Addressing public grievances, a committee will be established under the chairmanship of the Revenue Minister, which will include government officers and local dignitaries to resolve revenue-related concerns. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Bugti emphasized that the martyrs are very dear to the nation and affirmed it is the government’s responsibility to take all possible care of their families. He further stated that the entire nation pays glowing tribute to the great sacrifices of the Pakistan Army, FC, Police, and other law enforcement agencies
