CM Bugti Briefs PPP Chairman on Law and Order in Balochistan

Bilawal Bhutto, Balochistan CM hold key meeting on security, politics and peace initiative

ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti called on Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Zardari House in Islamabad on Saturday, where the two leaders held an extensive exchange of views on the political, administrative, and security situation prevailing across the province.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Bugti briefed the PPP chairman in detail on the overall administrative and political climate of Balochistan, with particular focus on the recent surge in terrorist activities. He apprised Bilawal Bhutto Zardari of the measures taken to console the bereaved families of the Ziarat tragedy and affirmed that their demands were being addressed on a priority basis. Bugti also disclosed that a judicial commission had been established to investigate the incident, in line with the families’ demands.

In a significant development, the Chief Minister informed Bilawal that an all-party conference would soon be convened to deliberate on establishing lasting peace in the province. He said the conference would extend invitations not only to parliamentary parties but also to political groups outside the Parliament, underscoring the government’s commitment to inclusive dialogue.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari paid rich tribute to the personnel of the army, Frontier Corps, and police who laid down their lives in the recent wave of terrorism, expressing deep solidarity with the affected families. He appreciated Chief Minister Bugti’s role in healing the wounds of the Ziarat tragedy victims’ families and acknowledged his efforts in making the negotiation process successful. The PPP chairman also thanked the opposition parties for their cooperation in this process.

Reaffirming his party’s core philosophy, Bilawal stated that negotiation remains the only viable solution to Balochistan’s political challenges. He reiterated that the PPP has always believed in political dialogue with all parties, whether they are in government or opposition. He further declared that his party’s stance against terrorism has been unequivocal from day one, adding that the entire nation would stand as a leaden wall against the scourge of terrorism.
