Balochistan Forcibly Retires 34 Teachers Over Participation in Strike

QUETTA: The Balochistan Higher Education Department has taken large-scale disciplinary action by forcibly retiring 34 teachers accused of participating in a strike.

According to the department, those affected by the action include a professor in Grade 20. A total of 34 teachers have been removed from service over allegations of involvement in the strike.

Officials said the teachers subjected to compulsory retirement include 16 lecturers in Grade 17, 12 assistant professors in Grade 18, and five associate professors in Grade 19.

Sources revealed that the Higher Education Department had previously forced the retirement of three assistant professors as well. The latest action has further heightened tensions within academic and educational circles across the province.
