It is pertinent to mention that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, bordering Afghanistan, has seen a rise in militant attacks since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Kabul.
Islamabad has consistently asked Kabul not to support militant groups or provide sanctuaries to those carrying out attacks in Pakistan.
Kabul, however, has failed to honour its commitments made to Pakistan and the international community at the time of Doha accord that its territory would not be used for terrorism.
