KABUL: The former Afghan parliamentarian Bakhtash Siawash has predicted that the Taliban administration in Afghanistan will eventually come to an end.
In this regard, Siawash said that the Taliban’s actions do not represent the true teachings of Islam. He alleged that the group’s policies have damaged the image of the religion and projected a distorted interpretation that is inconsistent with Islamic values.
The Taliban seeks to portray Islam as a religion that is opposed to women’s rights, education, arts, and humanitarian values.
He argued that such policies have not only isolated Afghanistan internationally but have also contributed to growing dissatisfaction within Afghan society.
The former lawmaker further stated that, according to international analysts, the Taliban’s restrictive governance and coercive measures have exposed the realities of its rule to the global community.
He claimed that increasing domestic and international criticism indicates growing concern over the administration’s policies.
Meanwhile, Siawash also referred to the emergence of armed resistance groups operating against the Taliban government, saying their activities demonstrate that sections of the Afghan population continue to oppose the current administration.
He asserted that many Afghans are no longer willing to accept what he described as an oppressive system of governance.
The Taliban authorities have consistently maintained that they have restored security and stability across Afghanistan since taking control of the country in August 2021.
The administration has repeatedly rejected criticism regarding its governance, arguing that its policies are based on its interpretation of Islamic principles and Afghan cultural values.
The international community, meanwhile, has continued to express concern over restrictions on women’s education, employment, and civil liberties in Afghanistan. Several governments and international organizations have called on the Taliban to uphold fundamental human rights and ensure broader political inclusion.
