A major step of the Revolutionary Guards, a new maritime boundary line was drawn

TEHRAN: The naval forces of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have released a new map outlining maritime boundaries in the strategically significant Strait of Hormuz.

The newly issued map clearly defines key geographical and maritime limits. The southern boundary is depicted as extending between Iran’s Kuh-e Mobarak and a point south of Fujairah, a city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Meanwhile, the western boundary is shown as a line drawn between the far end of Iran’s Qeshm Island and the UAE emirate of Umm Al Quwain.

In this regard, Iranian authorities describe the map as an effort to clarify the country’s maritime jurisdiction in the area. The Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil transit chokepoints, has long been a focal point of geopolitical sensitivities due to its importance for global energy supplies.

The Iranian media reported that a vessel identified as belonging to the United States Navy was targeted with missile strikes in the Strait of Hormuz.

The ship was hit by two missiles after allegedly ignoring prior warnings issued by Iranian forces.

There has been no immediate confirmation or response from US authorities regarding the reported incident. Independent verification of the claims remains pending.

The situation unfolds against a backdrop of increasing regional tensions, with analysts noting a rise in military posturing and warnings from multiple sides.

The Strait of Hormuz continues to attract close international attention, as any disruption in the waterway could have significant implications for global trade and energy markets.
