Balochistan traders condemn India’s anti-Turkiye, Azerbaijan campaign

QUETTA: The business community in Quetta strongly condemned India’s boycott of Turkish and Azerbaijani products. They also criticized the cancellation of travel tickets to these countries by Indian citizens. Business leaders called this boycott a sign of India’s frustration over Turkish and Azerbaijani support for Pakistan during the recent conflict.

President of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), Haji Muhammad Ayub Miriani, along with Senior Vice-President Haji Akhtar Kakar, Vice-President Engineer Mir Wais Khan Kakar, and former president Haji Ghulam Farooq Khilji, addressed the issue during a discussion at QCCI.

They said Pakistan’s government and business community must respond. They urged stronger trade relations with Turkiye and Azerbaijan, calling both nations “brotherly Islamic countries.”

“The business community of Balochistan is ready to lead this effort,” they stated. They also expressed hope that the Pakistani government would support deeper trade ties with Turkiye and Azerbaijan.

The business leaders claimed that during Pakistan’s Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, India suffered major losses. They accused India of blaming friendly countries like Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and China to cover up its failure.

“The Modi government and the Indian public fear Pakistan’s allies,” they said. “That’s why they are boycotting products and cancelling travel plans to these countries.”

They also highlighted Pakistan’s goal to boost global trade. “Pakistan wants strong trade relations with all countries,” they said. “Rapid economic growth depends on expanding international trade.”

QCCI leaders added that they are working to resolve issues faced by industrialists and workers. These include problems in import-export, agriculture, livestock, and transport sectors.

“We assure that the Quetta Chamber of Commerce will play a leading role in strengthening trade ties with Turkiye and Azerbaijan,” they concluded.
