ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly rejected the provocative statements made by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Foreign Office spokesperson stated that Modi’s remarks are a deliberate attempt to fabricate a misleading narrative and incite hostility against Pakistan.
Any form of aggression from India will be met with a befitting response, the spokesperson asserted.
Pakistan welcomes President Trump’s offer to mediate in resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, reaffirming that the issue must be settled in accordance with United Nations resolutions. The spokesperson said Modi’s comments are a clear example of political opportunism and a violation of international law.
Clarifying Pakistan’s stance, the spokesperson emphasized that its military response targeted only Indian installations responsible for attacks on innocent Pakistani civilians.
“Pakistan is itself a victim of terrorism, much of which is orchestrated by India,” the statement added.
The spokesperson further stated that the recent ceasefire came through the efforts of a peace-loving nation, and dismissed India’s claim that Pakistan requested the ceasefire as entirely false.
