SWAT: Authorities in Swat have banned drones for 30 days. The ban takes effect immediately. District Magistrate Shahzad Mehboob issued the order on Monday.
Officials say the move aims to protect public safety and key installations. They cite regional tensions and security threats as the main reasons.
“The use of drones is now a serious security concern,” said the district magistrate.
The order warns that unauthorized drone use will face strict punishment. Violators will be charged under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code. This law punishes disobedience to lawful orders from public officials.
