ISLAMABAD: In a unified stance during a joint session of Parliament, Pakistan’s top leadership strongly condemned India’s unprovoked missile attacks that killed 26 innocent civilians across six Pakistani cities.
The retaliatory action by Pakistan Air Force, which downed five Indian aircraft including three Rafales, was hailed as a decisive and timely response to blatant hostility.
Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, addressed the media stating, “We had clearly declared that Pakistan would not initiate war, but any act of Indian aggression will be met with an equal response. What India did, we have answered—and we will continue to do so.”
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, speaking in Parliament, criticized India’s cowardly night-time attacks on innocent civilians.
“India has become blinded by ego, turning beastly in its actions. We bore baseless accusations for two weeks with patience.
But the Pahalgam incident was a calculated attempt to divert attention from the Kashmir cause,” he remarked.
He further emphasized that “Pakistan will not respond in darkness but in daylight. This is not 2001 or 2003, where Muslims could be easily labeled as terrorists and the world would accept it. Our Air Force crushed Indian jets like mosquitoes. If India keeps attacking, we will keep downing their planes.”
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also spoke, affirming that Pakistan had condemned the Pahalgam incident and denied involvement, while India baselessly blamed Pakistan.
“We conveyed our position to 40 countries. Although we had resolved not to initiate war, India’s unjustified attacks have changed the scenario.
Pakistan responded decisively, even at the water level,” he said, noting that the Parliament was to be briefed today on the evolving situation.
Parliament collectively conveyed that any future aggression will be faced with firm resolve, and the nation stands united behind its armed forces in defending the country’s sovereignty and people.
