8 Militants killed in operation by forces

RAWALPINDI: Pakistani security forces have carried out a series of targeted operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), resulting in the elimination of several militants.

In one of the significant actions, eight Khawarij militants were killed in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan.

According to an official statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), these operations in both South and North Waziristan were based on vital intelligence regarding militant hideouts.

Alongside the operations in Waziristan, three additional militants were neutralized in Khyber and Bannu, areas that have faced increasing attacks on both civilians and security personnel.

These militants were linked to brutal attacks against innocent people and Pakistani security forces.

The operations, which were carried out with precision and based on intelligence reports, not only led to the deaths of these militants but also saw a brave Pakistani soldier martyred in a fierce clash with the insurgents.

Earlier in the day, a successful intelligence-based operation was conducted in Bakakhil Tehsil, Bannu district.

Acting on a tip-off, the security forces raided a terrorist hideout, where an exchange of gunfire resulted in the deaths of two militants affiliated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), also known as Fitna al-Khawarij.

The TTP later confirmed the death of its operatives in the operation.

These militant groups, with strong backing from factions within Afghanistan, continue to target both civilians and military personnel in Pakistan.

Despite repeated appeals from Pakistan for Afghanistan to prevent its soil from being used for cross-border terrorism, the Taliban-led government in Kabul has consistently rejected these demands.

The ongoing terrorist activities have led to the tragic loss of thousands of lives, both military and civilian, further escalating tensions in the region.
