Balochistan reaping benefits of development: Army Chief

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir visited the 15th National Workshop Balochistan, according to a statement issued by the ISPR.

The event in the GHQ saw the participation of a large number of representatives from Balochistan, including members of Parliament, civil society, media professionals, youth, and bureaucrats.

During the visit, General Asim Munir emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to peace and stability, asserting that hostile elements will not be allowed to succeed in their malicious intentions.

He stressed the urgent need to counter the negative effects of misinformation and propaganda aimed at destabilizing the country.

The enemy, he said, seeks to disturb the peace of every province, but such attempts will be firmly countered.

He highlighted the significant and growing role of civil society in Balochistan, noting its contribution to raising awareness and promoting progress in the region.

He also pointed out that foreign-sponsored terrorism remains a major threat to Balochistan, but affirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces, with the support of the people, will continue their resolute fight against terrorism.

He also noted that the political and the military leadership is bringing all the resources to utilize for the prosperity of the province.

The Army Chief acknowledged the tangible benefits being delivered to the people of Balochistan through various development projects.

He further noted that if the peace and stability of Pakistan is challenged, the state will respond decisively.

General Munir also encouraged the youth to play a proactive role in the development and prosperity of Balochistan.

General Munir further added that incidents like the recent Pahalgam attack highlight the desperate efforts of hostile forces to create unrest and fear.

He emphasized that such cowardly acts only strengthen Pakistan’s resolve to counter terrorism and protect its people.

He called on the youth of Balochistan to rise above fear, remain united, and play a constructive role in the province’s development journey.
