Regarding the India’s objection on the IMF program for Pakistan, Mahir Benisi has said that the IMF could not comment on the concerns of other countries.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance officials have expressed confidence that the country will receive crucial financial support during this meeting. They expect approval for the $1.3 billion Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF) program, aimed at addressing climate change challenges, alongside a crucial addition of $1 billion to the ongoing $7 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.

This demand came amid heightened tensions between the two countries following the Pahalgam attack in Indian occupied Kashmir, in which 26 people were killed and 20 others were injured. India has accused Pakistan of involvement in the incident; however, the Pakistan political and military leadership has categorically rejected the allegations and offer to investigate the incident through UN officials or any other impartial body. The Pakistan is still waiting for the India response in this regard.
