QUETTA: Terrorist groups in Balochistan are using women in violent attacks. These groups often target vulnerable women, exploiting their social and emotional struggles.
The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) remains the most active of these groups. It uses advanced tactics, including suicide bombings, to push anti-state agendas. Women like Shari Baloch, Summaya Baloch, and Mahal Baloch have been used in such attacks.
Recent reports show disturbing trends. Women are manipulated, abused, and stripped of their freedom. Many are promised empowerment, but instead face mental and sexual exploitation.
Shari Baloch’s case drew national attention. In 2022, she carried out a suicide bombing at Karachi University’s Confucius Centre.
Her descent into terrorism was not a personal choice. It was shaped by coercion and abuse. A post by Jan Achakzai, former provincial minister of Balochistan, on X highlighted her ordeal, marked by intense psychological pressure and sexual exploitation.

Her identity was broken down over time. Terror groups turned her into a tool of violence. Her life, once full of promise, was tragically lost to manipulation.
Human rights activists demand that such abuse be exposed and condemned. Terrorists must be held accountable for turning women into pawns of war. They said that keep silence on this most calling issue is only helps these crimes continue. Speaking up is now more urgent than ever.
