India backs BLA and BLF in Balochistan, Khawaja Asif

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif alleged that India is actively supporting outlawed terrorist organizations operating in Balochistan, including the Balochistan Liberation Army and Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), in an attempt to destabilize the country.

These remarks came during a press briefing at the Foreign Office in Islamabad in response to the banning of the Indus Water Treaty and other diplomatic measures taken by the Modi regime, where Asif provided a detailed account of what he described as “direct and indirect Indian interference” in Pakistan’s internal affairs.

“The involvement of India in Balochistan is no longer a matter of speculation,” stated Asif. “There is now ample evidence that India, through its intelligence apparatus, is financing and training extremist factions such as the BLA and BLF.

These groups have consistently targeted Pakistan’s sovereignty and development in the region.”

Furthermore, both the BLA and BLF are declared terrorist organizations under Pakistan’s Anti-Terrorism Act. They have been involved in numerous attacks on security forces, infrastructure, and civilians, particularly in the restive Balochistan province.

The federal government has repeatedly blamed foreign actors for fueling unrest in the province to obstruct economic progress and national unity.

Moreover, the government has raised these concerns in multiple international forums, urging the United Nations and allied countries to take notice of what it describes as “state-sponsored terrorism” aimed at weakening Pakistan’s internal stability.

In such a case, as the situation develops, the government has vowed to take firm measures to safeguard national security and integrity. “We will not allow our soil to be fractured by foreign-funded militants. Pakistan will continue to expose these malicious designs on every platform,” Asif concluded.
