TTP Frees Abducted Policeman in Dera Ismail Khan After Elders’ Mediation

Dera Ismail Khan: A police personnel abducted by the outlawed Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the Khoi Bahara area of Paharpur tehsil has been released after local tribal elders intervened.

The constable, Afser Jan, a resident of North Waziristan, was taken by the TTP during an operation in the region. He remained in the group’s custody for several days before being freed following the formal assurance of local elders who negotiated his release.

Authorities have not yet commented officially on the circumstances surrounding the abduction or the conditions of his release.
