In a breathtaking display of power-hitting during the President’s Trophy Grade-I, Mohammad Shahzad shatters record for fastest century by a Pakistani batter in first-class cricket, reaching the milestone in a mere 49 balls while playing for Pakistan Television against Kingsmen Academy.
Aiding his team at the Diamond Cricket Ground during the third round of the tournament, Shahzad outshone the previous record established by former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who had recorded a 56-ball hundred against Australia back in 2014.
Shahzad eventually scored a blistering 114 runs off just 62 deliveries, laced with 12 fours and 8 towering sixes, marking the sixth century of his first-class career.
This monumental 49-ball ton also places him firmly among the eight fastest centuries ever recorded in first-class cricket worldwide.
