President and Prime Minister Pay Tribute to Hangu Operation Martyrs

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have paid tribute to the martyrs of the Hangu operation, commending the courage and sacrifices of security forces personnel who lost their lives in the fight against terrorism. The leadership also praised the security forces for killing eight terrorists during the operation.

President Zardari expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Captain Abuzar Farooq, Lieutenant Shiraz Babar and other soldiers during the security operation in Hangu. He paid tribute to the bravery and courage of the personnel who embraced martyrdom while defending the country.

The President extended his heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed to Almighty Allah for the elevation of their ranks and for patience and strength for their bereaved families.

President Zardari said that the sacrifices of the nation’s brave sons would further strengthen the resolve to completely eradicate terrorism from the country. He emphasized that the sacrifices rendered by the security forces and law-enforcement agencies for the defence and security of the homeland would not go to waste.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also paid tribute to the security forces for killing eight terrorists of Fitna al-Khawarij during the operation in Hangu.

The Prime Minister said that the martyred officers and soldiers demonstrated exceptional courage in defending the homeland and fighting terrorism. He said the martyrs sacrificed their lives for the future of the nation and the security of the country, adding that the entire nation pays tribute to its brave martyrs.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif further said that operations by the security forces and law-enforcement agencies against Fitna al-Khawarij would continue until terrorism is completely eliminated.

The leadership reaffirmed the nation’s determination to continue efforts against terrorism and safeguard the country’s peace, security and sovereignty.
