ٰISLAMABAD: The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) will be held across Pakistan, including Karachi, on September 20, with more than 34,000 students set to appear in Sindh alone.
In Sindh, the admission test will be conducted under the supervision of IBA University Sukkur. IBA Sukkur Vice Chancellor Professor Asif Ahmed Shaikh said candidates must reach their designated examination centres before the reporting time.
Professor Asif Ahmed Shaikh said examination centres have been established in five cities across Sindh, including Karachi. He said a total of nine centres have been set up across eight cities to facilitate candidates appearing in the MDCAT.
An additional examination centre has also been established in Islamabad, according to the IBA Sukkur vice-chancellor.
MDCAT test to last three hours
The MDCAT examination will have a duration of three hours, giving candidates a fixed period to complete the test.
Students have been advised to reach their assigned examination centres before the reporting time to avoid any difficulties or delays on the day of the test.
With thousands of candidates expected to appear, students are being urged to follow the examination instructions carefully.
Mobile phones, devices prohibited
Professor Asif Shaikh said candidates will not be allowed to bring digital devices, including mobile phones, into the examination centres. He stressed that students must comply with the rules and avoid carrying prohibited items to the test venues.
The restrictions are part of measures being taken to ensure the MDCAT is conducted in a secure and transparent environment.
Professor Asif Shaikh also gave an assurance that the examination paper would not be leaked.
“We will not allow the paper to be leaked,” he said, adding that he had made the same promise previously and was reiterating it ahead of this year’s test.
The MDCAT is scheduled to take place nationwide on September 20, with candidates across the country preparing to compete for admission to medical and dental colleges.
