ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad Zone has advised dual nationals and overseas Pakistanis travelling to Pakistan to ensure that they possess valid travel documents and comply with all applicable immigration requirements before beginning their journey.
The FIA official said on Friday that dual nationals travelling to Pakistan should carry a valid Pakistani passport, National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP), or a Pakistan e-Visa, where applicable.
The agency focused on the importance of checking travel documents before departure to avoid unnecessary difficulties at airports and during immigration procedures.
The FIA further clarified that Pakistani nationals working abroad could return to Pakistan even if their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) had expired, provided they possess the other required travel documents in accordance with applicable regulations.
The clarification is particularly relevant for overseas Pakistanis who may be concerned about the status of their identity documents before travelling back to the country.
The FIA urged passengers to verify the latest travel and immigration requirements before boarding their flights. Travellers have also been advised to ensure that their passports remain valid and that their identity documents are acceptable for travel.
The agency’s advisory highlights the importance of completing all necessary document checks before departure, particularly for passengers holding dual nationality or residing abroad.
FIA Urges Travellers to Stay Prepared
The FIA encouraged travellers to remain informed about applicable immigration procedures and prepare their documents in advance.
“Stay informed, travel prepared,” the agency said, urging passengers to complete the necessary checks before starting their journey to Pakistan.
