QUETTA: Advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan on Home Affairs, Babar Yousafzai, has stated that Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti’s remarks regarding orchards and private properties were realistic and grounded in ground realities.
He emphasized that if any individual’s private property, orchard, or owned space is exploited for militancy in Balochistan, the government and the state will take strict legal action, as no one is permitted to provide safe havens or operational bases to terrorists.
Yousafzai noted that over the past few months, several incidents have occurred where miscreants utilized private spaces and orchards to conceal themselves and target innocent citizens and travelers, making countermeasures a core state responsibility.
He clarified that the Chief Minister’s statement did not target any specific community, tribe, nation, or region, but was strictly contextualized around eradicating terrorism and safeguarding civilians.
Highlighting the necessity for collective unity to achieve sustainable peace, stability, and development, the Advisor on Home Affairs asserted that elements facilitating terrorists cannot remain above the law.
Concluding his remarks, he maintained that while private property is respected, the state cannot remain silent when owned lands are co-opted for militancy in Balochistan, rendering lawful intervention inevitable for public safety.
