DHAKA: Bangladesh is approaching formal negotiations with China to acquire J-10CE fighter jets and attack helicopters, with a dedicated government panel actively drafting a comprehensive agreement. According to officials, this proposed acquisition stands to become one of the nation’s largest defense procurements in recent years, further strengthening strategic and military ties with Beijing, which remains Dhaka’s principal arms supplier.
Speaking on the development, Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman noted that Bangladesh has closely observed the stellar performance of Chinese aviation technology in neighboring regional conflicts.
Local media reports indicate that Dhaka is considering procuring up to 24 multirole J-10CE units to modernize its air force capabilities.
