ISLAMABAD : The latest flood report released by the relevant authorities has revealed varying flood levels across the country’s major rivers, with the Indus River witnessing medium flood at Kalabagh while low floods have been recorded at several key barrages and dams.

 

According to the report, excessive water flow has been measured at multiple points along the Indus River. A discharge of 390,575 cusecs was recorded at Kalabagh, where the river is currently experiencing a medium flood. Meanwhile, low flood conditions prevail at Tarbela Dam, Chashma Barrage, Taunsa Barrage, Guddu Barrage, and Sukkur Barrage.

 

The discharge recorded at Tarbela Dam stood at 250,700 cusecs, while Chashma Barrage recorded 342,253 cusecs of water. Taunsa Barrage witnessed a flow of 372,712 cusecs, Guddu Barrage recorded 261,830 cusecs, and Sukkur Barrage logged 251,150 cusecs — all falling under the low flood category.

 

The flood report also highlighted the water levels at key reservoirs. The water level at Tarbela Dam was recorded at 1,550.01 feet, while Mangla Dam’s water level was measured at 1,216.70 feet, showing an increase of 0.1 feet.

 

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as water flows continue to surge in the river system.
