ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari said on Wednesday that the day was not far when terrorism would be completely eliminated from Balochistan.
Zardari made the remarks during a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti at the President House in Islamabad.
The meeting reviewed the overall situation in Balochistan and ongoing development projects in the province. The president also received a briefing on the progress of various initiatives.
Zardari stressed the need for effective coordination between the federal and provincial governments to ensure peace, development and public welfare in Balochistan.
He said the country’s largest province by area deserved special attention and adequate resources.

The president said attempts by foreign-backed militants to disrupt Balochistan’s development would be foiled at all costs.
“The day is not far when terrorism will be completely eliminated from Balochistan,” he said.

Pakistan Peoples Party Women’s Wing President Faryal Talpur and former Balochistan minister Mir Ali Hassan Zehri also attended the meeting.
