Pakistan-England-Sri Lanka ODI Tri-Series Proposed Schedule Emerges

ISLAMABAD: The proposed schedule for the Pakistan-England-Sri Lanka ODI tri-series in Pakistan has emerged.

According to the proposed schedule, the tri-series will run from October 18 to November 1, with the first three matches scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi.

Sources said Rawalpindi could host matches on October 18, 20 and 22. The second phase is proposed to be held in Lahore, with matches scheduled for October 25, 27 and 29.

The final is proposed for November 1 in Lahore.

The three cricket boards are expected to finalise the schedule through mutual consultation. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will announce the dates and venues once the schedule receives formal approval.

Sources also said Sri Lanka are scheduled to play two Tests and three T20Is during their Pakistan tour.

The schedule for those matches will also be finalised after consultations among the cricket boards of Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka.

The tri-series is considered important ahead of the upcoming international cricket calendar. Pakistan will have the advantage of playing at home, while England and Sri Lanka will get an opportunity to assess their preparations in the ODI format.

Pakistan face England in a three-match Test series, with the opening match beginning at Headingley Cricket Ground in Leeds on Wednesday. The second Test is scheduled to start at Lord’s on August 27, while the third will begin at Edgbaston in Birmingham on September 9.

Pakistan will be without Babar Azam, who was ruled out after being struck by a ball during the team’s three-day warm-up match. Salman Agha will captain the side in his absence, becoming the 36th player to lead Pakistan in Test cricket.
