QUETTA: Security forces killed two terrorists, including a high-value militant identified as Mushtaq Ahmed alias Kohyar, during an intelligence-based operation in Basima area of Balochistan.
The operation was conducted in Killi Zaiq, near Basima, following intelligence about the presence of militants associated with Fitna al Hindustan.
Security forces also injured three other terrorists during the operation.
Troops recovered ammunition, hand grenades and material used to make improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the militants.

Security forces have launched a follow-up search operation in the area to locate any remaining militants.
The authorities said operations will continue until the complete elimination of terrorism from the area.
The development comes a day after security forces killed seven terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Lajay, Kharan district of Balochistan.
The seven terrorists were killed and several others were injured during a successful intelligence-based operation conducted by security forces in Kharan district of Balochistan.
The operation was carried out in the Lajay area of Kharan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 following intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists in the area.
The security forces launched the operation after receiving information about the suspected militants’ hideouts.
In this regard, seven terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during the operation, while several others sustained injuries.
The forces also destroyed the terrorists’ hideouts during the action.
The substantial quantity of weapons, ammunition and other military equipment was recovered from the militants’ positions, the sources said. Two vehicles and a motorcycle were also seized during the operation. They were also reportedly planning suicide attacks in the area.

In response to the terrorist attacks, security forces last month launched Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, a high-tempo counterterrorism campaign involving intelligence-based sweeps across Balochistan to target militant networks, officially referred to as Fitna al-Hindustan or Fitna al-Khawarij, across the province.
