QUETTA: Gunmen broke into a house in Balochistan’s Nushki district and killed a mother and her daughter, police said.
The incident took place late Friday night in Killi Mengal, according to police and local media reports.
Unknown gunmen entered the house and opened fire. The attackers fled the scene after the shooting.
Police identified the victims as Bibi Hanifa, wife of Ali Ahmed Mohammad Hasni, and her daughter Hafsa.
No one else was present in the house at the time of the attack, police said.
Police said Bibi Hanifa worked at a private school.
Authorities moved the bodies to Mir Gul Khan Naseer Hospital after receiving information about the incident. Doctors completed the required procedures before handing over the bodies to the families.
Police said the victims’ families had not yet filed a formal complaint.
The Station House Officer of Saddar Police Station is investigating the incident, police said.
Last month, two individuals—a woman identified as Zar Bano and a man identified as Fateh Ali—were shot dead by armed assailants in the border region of Nasirabad and Jhal Magsi, near Shaheed Kalo.
The attack was allegedly motivated by “honor killing” (siyah-kari).
Police arrived at the scene, transferred the bodies to the hospital for necessary procedures, and later handed them over to their families.

So-called honour killings remain a serious form of violence against women in Pakistan, including Balochistan. The killings are often carried out by family members or relatives who accuse women of violating social or family expectations. Rights groups say such crimes can involve accusations related to marriage choices, relationships or perceived damage to family reputation.
Reliable province-specific data for Balochistan is limited. Human rights organisations have repeatedly warned that many honour killings go unreported or are recorded under other categories, making the true scale difficult to establish.
