MUZAFARGARH: In Kot Addu, Punjab, a tragic incident occurred when a loader rickshaw carrying wedding guests plunged into the Muzaffargarh Canal near the Sheikho Sugar Mill in Sanawan.
The accident resulted in the death of one child, while approximately six other individuals are reported missing due to drowning.
According to rescue sources, local residents managed to rescue three children from the canal on a self-help basis before emergency teams arrived.
Rescue personnel administered CPR to one child, while two others were given first aid and transferred to the Rural Health Center in Sanawan, where a doctor confirmed the death of one child.
Authorities stated that about six people remain missing, and search operations are currently underway.
Four rescue vehicles are actively participating in the relief operations at the scene to locate the missing individuals.
