GILIGIT: Pakistan Army Aviation has successfully recovered and transferred the bodies of seven foreign climbers to Skardu following a major rescue operation after an avalanche struck Broad Peak.
Out of ten missing climbers, Pakistan Army Aviation recovered seven bodies along with the partial remains of a US female climber, all of which have been airlifted to Skardu.
The missing mountaineers hailed from the United States, China, Nepal, Oman, and Pakistan.
Civil and military authorities, diplomatic representatives, and district administration officials paid tribute to the deceased climbers in Skardu.
Due to adverse weather conditions, the bodies of one Pakistani and one Nepali climber, as well as the remaining remains of the US female climber, could not yet be recovered.
