RAWALPINDI: Pakistani security forces killed seven Indian-sponsored militants, including a suicide bomber, during an intelligence-based operation in Nushki district of southwestern Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operation targeted Indian-sponsored terrorists of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA).
According to the military, troops engaged the militants after acting on intelligence. Seven suspected militants were killed during the operation, including an individual identified as a suicide bomber.
The ISPR said security forces destroyed a militant hideout during the raid. They also recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
The military said troops were continuing a clearance operation in the area to ensure no militants remained.
The ISPR said Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign under the Azm-e-Istehkam strategy would continue, reaffirming the country’s commitment to eliminating what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism.
